I am in Reading, United Kingdom, visiting some friends and decided to head out to Stonehenge which is about a two-hour journey. As I arrived at the station there was a lot of commotion. I bought my ticket and then asked one of the Events Coordinators what was going on. To my delight, she told me that the Queen was coming to officially open the new station at about 11a or so; it was 8:53a.
Of course, I had to delay my trip to Stonehenge. I waited and chatted with locals as they gathered to see their Queen and soon I would too. I was ecstatic!
Incidentally, if you want the Queen to acknowledge you, bring her flowers as you stand a better chance than not having anything with which to greet her.
Here are some photos of the event.
